Job summary
Mercyhealth laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Technologist to perform moderate to high complexity testing across hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank and microbiology. You will ensure accuracy, quality control, timely reporting, and instrument maintenance.
The role emphasizes troubleshooting, method evaluation, and training staff, with opportunities to mentor partners and students in a collaborative health system.
Qualifications
- Must perform high complexity testing per CLIA 493.1489 standard.
- Qualified to perform high complexity testing; MT/MLS certification required within 12 months.
- MLT certification with 5 years experience acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Receive specimens, order tests, document quality control and report results.
- Confirm specimen identity and assess sample quality before analysis.
- Perform waived to high complexity tests in multiple lab areas using automated and manual methods.
- Analyze results for validity, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain equipment, calibrate instruments and participate in method evaluations.
- Provide training and mentorship to students and partners.
