Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution or equivalent.
• Equivalency required for foreign education.
• Medical Technologist (ASCP or ASCP-International), Medical Technologist (AMT), MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International) CM or ASCP Certification eligible within one year.
• For specialized areas: Microbiology, Molecular, Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry options per the role.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily laboratory operations including specimen collections, processing, QC, and testing.
• Interprets, correlates, and verifies test results using techniques and instrumentation.
• Maintains testing analyzers and assists with instrument troubleshooting.
• Performs clerical duties to maintain efficient workflow.
• Maintains education and test competencies for patient populations served.
• Follows procedures when handling chemicals, specimens, or hazardous materials.
• Directs personnel when appropriate and communicates critical results to care teams.
• Supports point-of-care testing and blood bank operations for trauma services.
• Processes reference lab specimens and adheres to send-out protocols; may work on research specimens.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Clinical Laboratory Science

Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science AND Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical/medical laboratory science
