Mercy Health - Lorain is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for the Core Laboratory in Lorain, OH. The role supports the laboratory by performing routine tests on patient specimens and providing accurate results to physicians.

Qualifications include a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field and MLS certification or eligibility. The position requires evenings/nights and rotating weekends/holidays, with full-time scheduling and 36 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field (CLIA approved).
• Certification as MLS preferred; ASCP or equivalent preferred.
• Externship completion is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens accurately and timely.
• Assesses specimen acceptability via visual check or results.
• Recognizes factors affecting results and acts per protocol.
• Performs quality control and ensures results meet ranges.
• Maintains equipment and a safe work area per policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
