Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Council Bluffs, IA campus. The role requires performing diagnostic tests, reporting results, and ensuring quality control and regulatory compliance across routine benches.

Qualifications include a BS in MLS/CLS/MLS, NAACLS-accredited program, and ASCP MT/MLS certification within 6 months. Prior lab experience is preferred; training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or MLS program.
• ASCP MT/MLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of a Medical Laboratory Scientist and report tests on patient specimens.
• Maintain quality control and regulatory compliance; document results 100% of the time.
• Provide orientation, training, and competency documentation for staff.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; adhere to PPE guidelines at all times.
