Job summary

UNMC is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy on patients in a clinical setting at the Regional Pathology Services ( RPS ).Responsible for all duties related to processing and result reporting of outreach laboratory specimens while adhering to departmental identification policies. Provides extensive client service communication with RPS customers, including managing information about patient specimens.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • 1 year clinical/phlebotomy experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology; phlebotomy protocols, safety, and compliance.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm and maintain accuracy.

Position Summary

Preferred Experience:

Phlebotomy in outreach laboratory setting, Proficient in collecting urine drug screen collections, alcohol testing, paternity collections.

Ability to type 50 wpm.
