Responsibilities

1. Perform pre-analytical, processing functions to support testing by Medical Laboratory Technicians and Medical Technologists, including labeling, sorting samples, preparing specimens, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining supplies.
2. Support department by collecting blood samples, body fluids, and performing EKGs when needed.
3. Perform waived testing and related data tasks.
4. Process specimens, including centrifuging, aliquoting, and delivering to departments or referral labs.
5. Support lab testing, including preparing blood smears, plating cultures, and microbiology tasks.
6. Maintain quality control, record temperatures and humidity, and perform inventory management.
7. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
8. Perform venipuncture, capillary collections, and other routine procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two years of Phlebotomy experience required, or current enrollment in an MLT or MT/MLS program or a relevant degree.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field preferred.
• Certified Phlebotomist preferred.
