Job summary

Riverwood Healthcare Center in Minnesota is seeking a phlebotomy/ specimen collection role to support our laboratory services. The position involves venipuncture, specimen labeling, and patient instruction in a clinic setting.

You will assist with specimen transport, basic in-clinic testing, patient scheduling, and general lab operations, contributing to quality, accuracy, and patient comfort in our community hospital.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Phlebotomy course, Medical Assistant program or equivalent training preferred.
• 1–3 months of related experience or on-the-job training preferred.

Job description

Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager and General Supervisor, this position is responsible for the collection and processing of laboratory specimens from a variety of patient populations. Responsibilities include performing venipuncture and capillary collections, providing clear instructions to patients, and ensuring accurate labeling and handling of all specimens. The role also assists with specimen transport, basic lab testing in clinic settings, patient scheduling, and general support of laboratory operations. This position is essential in promoting patient comfort, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring efficient and accurate laboratory services.

What we are looking for:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Completion of a Phlebotomy course, Medical Assistant program, or equivalent healthcare-related training preferred.
• One to three months of relevant experience and/or on-the-job training in specimen collection or a related healthcare role preferred.
