Job summary

Mount Carmel, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing in our clinical laboratory. The role requires understanding the clinical significance of results and ensuring timely, accurate reporting.

Qualified candidates hold a Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology or related field; ASCP certification or eligibility is required. Excellent communication skills are essential, and relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• ASCP certification or eligible.
• Must maintain active certification if applicable.
• Experience: preferred, but not required.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs all clinical testing in assigned department.
• Records and reports test results accurately and promptly.
• Performs and interprets quality control testing following established guidelines.
• Maintains a high level of quality assurance.
• Practices established safety procedures, including Universal Precautions and proper use of safety equipment.
• Recognizes problems and consults with supervisor/manager for final decisions when criteria are unclear.
• Coordinates and evaluates new reagents, procedures and equipment as requested by supervisor/manager.
• Performs routine scheduled and specialized maintenance of laboratory equipment.
