Community Health Systems is seeking a Medical Technologist I to perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood and body fluids under minimal supervision. You will ensure accurate results, troubleshoot instruments, and support patient care by timely data collection for regulatory compliance.

Teaching responsibilities and phlebotomy duties may be included. The role requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, with certification options and 0–2 years acute care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• Passing score on Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW).
• 0–2 years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity lab tests with accurate results and timely reporting.
• Adhere to quality control procedures and documentation.
• Conduct instrument checks and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot instrument malfunctions and notify appropriate personnel.
• Ensure safety compliance and use of PPE per Laboratory Safety Plan.
• Communicate findings with team and contribute to data collection for regulatory needs.
• Collect urine drug screens as needed and support patient care.
• Collaborate with team to complete shift duties efficiently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and maintain reliable attendance.
