Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing with knowledge of clinical significance and accurate reporting of results.

Qualifications

• Education: Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Licensure/Certification: ASCP or equivalent; eligible for certification.
• Active certification: if applicable, must be maintained.
• Experience: Preferred, but not required.
• Communication skills: essential for team and reporting results.

Responsibilities

• Performs all clinical testing in assigned department.
• Records and reports test results accurately and promptly.
• Performs and interprets quality control testing per guidelines.
• Maintains high level of quality assurance.
• Follows safety procedures and uses safety equipment.
• Consults supervisor/manager for decisions when criteria are unavailable.
• Evaluates new reagents, procedures, and equipment as requested.
• Performs maintenance of laboratory equipment.
