Job summary

Responsibilities

• Perform tests in hematology, coagulation, chemistry, serology/immunology, Blood Bank, bacteriology, and urinalysis.
• Report and maintain records of test results.
• Operate, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• If lab assistant is unavailable, assist with specimen collection and processing.
• Document all activities and maintain quality standards.

Medical Lab Technologist

Full Time Technical Columbus, TX, US

Salary Range: $28.00 To $35.00 Hourly

The MLT is responsible for performing tests, reporting and maintaining

records of test results, and if the lab assistant is unavailable - specimen

collection, handling & processing. After orientation and documentation of

competency, the MLT will perform all laboratory tests including hematology

coag, chemistry, serology/immunology, Blood Bank, bacteriology, and

urinalysis. The MLT will also be able to operate, calibrate, do preventive

maintenance, and perform minor repairs on all laboratory equipment,

documenting all activities.

Education/Experience

Graduate of an approved school for medical laboratory technicians.

Current registry with a recognized professional organization (i.e. ASCP).

• Must maintain high professional standards and confidentiality
• Must understand the safe use of laboratory equipment.
• Must be familiar with and abide by hospital and laboratory policies and procedures and regulatory standards.
• Must have knowledge of medical technical practices and be aware of factors that influence test results.
