Job summary

Rainylakemedical seeks a MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN (MLT) for a full-time position in the Laboratory department. The role performs medical laboratory tests and procedures, ensures correct patient and specimen identification, and contributes to quality control and data management.

The candidate must be MLT (ASCP) or AMT registered or eligible within one year, with an AS degree in Laboratory Technology and preferably one year of lab training.

Qualifications

• MLT (ASCP) or AMT registration, or ability to attain within one year from date of hire.
• Associate of Applied Science Laboratory Technology degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical laboratory tests and procedures to provide diagnostic data.
• Ensure proper patient and specimen identification and track data.
• Oversee quality control evaluation and maintain analyzers and data systems.
• Manage supplies and assist with equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Collaborate with clinicians to deliver accurate diagnostic information and patient care.

Summary: Medical laboratory technician is responsible for performing medical laboratory tests and procedures to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease as ordered by a physician. The technician ensures proper patient and specimen identification and oversees quality control evaluation, supply management, and proper maintenance of analyzers and data. The technician demonstrates competency, knowledge and skills necessary to interact with and advocate for patients. The technician works closely with clinicians to provide the best diagnostic information, while striving to provide the highest quality patient services following established and accepted techniques. Position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and members of the community.

Requirements:

• MLT (ASCP) or (AMT) registered or must be able to attain within one (1) year from date of hire.
