Job summary

Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, TX, is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to perform a wide range of laboratory tests, report results, and maintain records. The role may involve specimen collection when needed and required cooperation with the lab team.

The MLT will work with hematology, chemistry, serology/immunology, Blood Bank, bacteriology and urinalysis, while also operating and maintaining equipment and documenting activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school for medical laboratory technicians.
• Current registry with ASCP or equivalent.
• Know hospital and laboratory policies and regulatory standards.
• Understand safe use of laboratory equipment.
• Familiar with and abide by policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests and report results with documentation.

Medical Lab Technologist

Columbus, TX, US

Salary Range: $28.00 To $35.00 Hourly

The MLT is responsible for performing tests, reporting and maintaining

records of test results, and if the lab assistant is unavailable - specimen

collection, handling & processing. After orientation and documentation of

competency, the MLT will perform all laboratory tests including hematology

coag, chemistry, serology/immunology, Blood Bank, bacteriology, and

urinalysis. The MLT will also be able to operate, calibrate, do preventive

maintenance, and perform minor repairs on all laboratory equipment,

documenting all activities.

Education/Experience

Graduate of an approved school for medical laboratory technicians.

Current registry with a recognized professional organization

(i.e. ASCP).
