Job summary

Huntsville Hospital laboratory team seeks a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to perform moderate and high complexity testing on blood and body fluids. The role includes performing quality control procedures, instrument checks, and routine maintenance per department policies.

The position also involves teaching new employees laboratory policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with accredited standards.

Qualifications

• Certification from an accredited college or university in medical laboratory sciences or related biological/chemical sciences.
• Degree must be in Medical Laboratory Sciences or one of the biological/chemical sciences; laboratory training required if in biology/chemistry.
• 1–2 years experience preferred; eligible for MLT/CLT certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs all required procedures relating to moderate and high complexity laboratory testing on all types of blood and body fluid specimens.
• Performs quality control procedures, instrument function checks, and preventative maintenance as required according to department policies and procedures.
• Teaches new employees laboratory policies and procedures.
