Qualifications

• Associate degree in sciences preferred; completed MLT program or equivalent.
• Certification as MLT (ASCP/AMT/NCA/AAB) preferred or eligible.
• Experience: none required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality specimens for testing, ensuring correct patient identification and proper tube use.
• Perform maintenance and updates on instruments and be familiar with operations and limitations.
• Assure accurate results by performing quality control and instrument troubleshooting procedures.
• Perform testing in a timely manner to meet stat, urgent and routine turnaround time requirements; validate results prior to reporting.
• Assume department responsibilities to maintain CAP standards at all times.
• Follow safety standards and safe work practices.
• Assist in continuing education and procedure updates.
