Position Overview

Bon Secours, with over 150 years of legacy, is dedicated to providing excellent care through compassionate and skilled teams. We are seeking a Part-Time Day Shift Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician at Richmond Community Hospital. In this role, you will perform testing on patient samples to detect various diseases, analyze results, and report findings to physicians.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Perform routine and complex laboratory tests, interpret results.
2. Identify and troubleshoot issues within your scope of training.
3. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and validate laboratory equipment.
4. Record and evaluate quality control data.
5. Assist with inventory, scheduling, and safety protocols.
6. Conduct competency assessments.
7. Develop and evaluate new testing methods as applicable.

Qualifications

• Certification: MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligible (preferably ASCP), or registry-eligible with certification within 12 months of hire.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program.
• Experience: Externship completed preferred.
