Job summary

MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) for a 1.0 FTE position with day shifts and alternating weekends. The role involves a dynamic range of lab tasks from patient analytic testing to data analysis and technical problem resolution.

Requirements include an Associate degree, current MLT (ASCP) CM or ASCP certification, or the option of a 50-week military program in lieu of a degree.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate degree and MLT certification.
• Military program accepted in lieu of degree.
• May require Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist certification or eligibility if phlebotomy duties are included.
• Minimum one year of laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and establish positive ID.
• Assess specimen suitability and reject if unsuitable.
• Prepare reagents as needed and maintain instrument calibration.
• Perform instrument maintenance and quality control.
