Job summary

MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital in Yakima, WA, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform a dynamic range of patient analytic testing, QC, data analysis and problem resolution. This 1.0 FTE, Days shift position offers a 10-hour schedule with alternating weekends and opportunities to grow within a community hospital.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Current Certification of Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (ASCP)CM. or MLT (ASCP)
• 50 week military program in lieu of associate's degree may be accepted.
• Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist eligible (if duties will include phlebotomy)
• Minimum one (1) year of previous laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• You will receive specimens, establish and maintain positive identification of specimens.
• You will determine suitability of specimen; may reject specimen.
• You will acquire/prepare reagents as needed.
• You will perform instrument maintenance and calibration.
