Job summary

Essentia Health's St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician for a full-time day/evening rotation between Processing and Chemistry, supporting patient care with accurate test results.

Requirements include an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and ASCP certification within one year of hire; expect ability to perform tests across CLIA complexities, phlebotomy, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required.
• ASCP certification as MLT within one year of hire.
• Ability to perform tests across CLIA complexity levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and injuries.
• Exhibit problem solving skills of a complex nature, participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control Monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, specimen processing, phlebotomy, along with customer service.
