Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician or Scientist to join our team. Hours are casual with shifts varying, at St Josephs Medical Center. The role encompasses testing across all CLIA levels and supporting QA/QC, instrumentation, and phlebotomy.

Qualified candidates will have an MLT or MLS credentialing pathway, with ASCP certification within one year of hire. Excellent teamwork and patient-focused service are essential to success.

Qualifications

• MLT: associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• MLS: four-year CLS degree or equivalent with ASCP MLS certification.
• Certification required within one year from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report tests across all CLIA complexity levels for patients of all ages.
• Contribute to quality assurance, quality control, and instrument maintenance.
• Handle specimen processing, phlebotomy, and related customer service tasks.
• Interpret results in the context of disease states and clinical knowledge.
• Possibly perform phlebotomy and support research and education activities.
