Job summary

The MLT at UAB Medical West Hospital in Hoover, AL performs routine and specialized tests to aid diagnosis and treatment. You will ensure accuracy, calibrate equipment, and follow safety and quality protocols while collaborating with physicians.

Minimum qualifications include MLT certification or equivalent, with options for recent graduates. A 12:00pm–10:30pm shift cycle is offered, with 7-on/7-off coverage and a $10,000 sign-on bonus plus tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Certification in good standing as MLT(ASCP) or equivalent required.
• Recent graduates with an Associate degree may be considered.
• Must obtain certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests on various specimens.
• Analyze test results and report findings to physicians.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Adhere to safety protocols and quality control standards.
• Assist in training and supervising junior lab staff and interns.
