Description

Our Medical Lab Scientist Phlebotomy Site Supervisor oversees sites such as, but not limited to, Emory Healthcare affiliate specimen collection locations within hospital entities and throughout the metro Atlanta area, hospital Phlebotomy, specimen processing triaging areas, or courier logistics required for specimen transport.

This role supervises multiple Emory affiliate phlebotomy locations.

  • Operationally manages assigned areas, participating in discussions and decision-making for departmental process improvement projects.
  • Initiates or participates in quality improvement projects, including data gathering and report or poster preparation.
  • Builds relationships within the lab organization and across EHC through meetings, participation in task forces, and stakeholder engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical lab science, or a related science. Other degrees are accepted if graduated from an accredited school of medical technology or if coursework meets certifying agency requirements.
  • Five years of medical technology or healthcare experience, with four years in a supervisory role preferred.

Certification for Medical Technologists: MT (ASCP), HTL (ASCP), CT(ASCP), or equivalent, with generalist or categorical certification if applicable.

For Laboratory Support Services:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields, including health administration, project management, IT, clinical lab science, or related sciences.
  • RN licensure acceptable for non-testing departments.
  • Three years healthcare experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
