Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, VA. You will perform routine tests on blood and other specimens, delivering quality results and upholding patient safety in a busy clinical laboratory.

Required: BS in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field from a CLIA‑approved program and MLS certification or eligible (ASCP preferred); externship completed is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field from CLIA-approved program.
• MLS certification or eligible (ASCP preferred).
• Externship completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests on biological specimens accurately per procedures.
• Assess specimen acceptability by inspection and results.
• Identify factors affecting measurements and take appropriate actions.
• Perform QC and ensure results meet established ranges.
• Maintain safe, clean lab environment and troubleshoot equipment.
