Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Medical Laboratory Technician to perform a variety of diagnostic tests and specialized procedures with general supervision. This role supports quality control, documentation, and communication of results to clinical teams across Boston and Needham locations.

The position requires an Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science and offers opportunities for growth through continuing education and cross‑disciplinary

Qualifications

Associate’s degree required.
Bachelor’s degree and completion of an ASCP/NAACLS accredited MT/MLS program preferred.
2 years clinical laboratory experience and an Associate’s degree OR no experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
3 years of Clinical Lab Science experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of moderate and highly complex diagnostic laboratory testing.
May perform specialized procedures in sections unique to each discipline.
Evaluate abnormal/critical results and take actions per guidelines.
Record results with supporting documentation for clinical interpretation.
Perform quality control, maintenance, and calibration of equipment.
