Job summary

Mass General Brigham Incorporated through Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton, is seeking a per diem Medical Laboratory Technician. The role performs a broad range of clinical tests across microbiology, serology, urinalysis, hematology, chemistry and blood bank, reporting results to physicians.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with MLT(ASCP) certification and 6 months to 1 year of experience, including potential Blood Bank exposure.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required.
• MLT(ASCP) certification required.
• Six months to one year experience as an MLT; 0-1 year preferred.
• Recent Blood Banking experience if employee will be scheduled to work in the Blood Bank.
• Associate’s degree and MLT (CLT) (ASCP) or equivalent registration or registry eligibility required.
• If the employee does not meet registration requirements within 1 year of employment, the position will be forfeited.
• Relevant education transcripts required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct or monitor a wide range of clinical laboratory test procedures.
• Maintain and operate instrumentation according to procedures and guidelines.
• Perform quality control procedures on tests and instrumentation.
• Report and document patient results according to departmental protocol.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and maintain adequate supplies.
