Job summary

Memorial Hermann seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist/MLT for the Evening shift to join a high-volume, fast-paced laboratory environment. The role focuses on accurate testing across generalist areas (Blood Bank, Microbiology, Hematology, Chemistry) with opportunities for professional growth and certification.

Requires a MLS/CLS degree or equivalent, ASCP/AMT/CLS certifications, and ability to work 4x10-hour shifts with rotating weekends. Generous PTO and professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution
• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science AND Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical/medical laboratory science
• For SW/TMC Microbiology positions – Doctoral, Masters, or Bachelor’s degree in MLS/CLS or biological science
• For SW Molecular positions – Bachelor’s degree in MLS/CLS, Molecular Biology, Biology, Biological Science, Molecular Genetic Technology or Biochemical Chemistry
• Equivalency Required for Foreign Education

Responsibilities

• Manages daily laboratory operations including specimen collections, processing, quality control, testing, result reporting and distribution.
• Interprets, correlates, and verifies test results using techniques, principles, and instrumentation.
• Maintains testing analyzers and corrective actions according to policy; assists with instrument troubleshooting.
• Performs clerical duties to maintain efficient workflow.
• Maintains ongoing education and test competencies according to patient population needs.

Associate degree in MLS + Bachelor's degree in related sciences
