Job summary

Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform a variety of tests across Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Transfusion. You will ensure accuracy through quality control and troubleshooting while supporting patient diagnosis and care.

Candidates must have MLS certification or equivalent, completion of an MLS program, and be eligible for BOC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology science or equivalent; accredited program.
• Completion of MLS coursework and internship; eligible to sit for the BOC; certification within 6 months.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and body fluids to help diagnose medical conditions.
• Interpret and analyze test results for patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; ensure proper calibration and function.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of results.
• Prepare, collect, and handle samples following proper protocols.
• Record and report data for healthcare providers.
• Maintain laboratory safety and sterile working conditions.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on patient care decisions.
