Job summary

Intermountain Health Sevier Valley Hospital in Richfield, Utah is seeking a Medical Technologist/MLS to perform and supervise a variety of lab tests across Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Transfusion services. This role emphasizes quality control, instrument maintenance, and data reporting to support patient care decisions.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's in clinical laboratory science or MLS program with BOC certification, and must be able to work a rotating 4-10 hour shift

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology or related science from an accredited program (Required).
• MLS program completion with eligibility to sit for the BOC (Required).
• ASCP or equivalent MLS/Medical Lab Scientist certification (Required).
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends, holidays, nights, and on-call (Required).
• State licensure where applicable (e.g., Montana) (Required).
• BLS certification for healthcare providers (Required).

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and body fluids to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Analyze test results to provide accurate data for patient care decisions.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment with proper calibration.
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of results.
• Prepare and handle samples following proper protocols to avoid contamination.
• Record and report data for healthcare teams and providers.
• Maintain laboratory safety and cleanliness; follow guidelines and protocols.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and support clinical staff as needed.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other professionals on test interpretation.
