Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories in Phoenix, AZ seeks a highly skilled laboratory professional to perform complex testing and support department compliance with CLIA, CAP, and OSHA standards. You will help with specimen collection, processing, and ensuring quality results across 1st and 2nd shifts.

The role requires a MLS/categorical certification or equivalent, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead in the absence of on-site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology (or chemical/biological science) with eligible certification.
• MLS or categorical certification or completion certificate from an accredited MLS program.
• Candidates may need to maintain certification in states like NV or CA.
• Foreign educated candidates require credential evaluation (IERF) for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing accurately and timely per policies and performance standards.
• Startup, calibration, and accuracy of procedures and instrumentation; lead in absence of on-site leadership.
• Monitor abnormal results and ensure test result accuracy; document deviations and participate in QA activities.
• Monitor inventory and provide data for financial performance; participate in cost-reduction initiatives.
• Assist with training, competency assessments, and department projects; support educational outreach.
• Process and/or prepare patient samples including collection, processing, and referrals as needed.
