Job summary

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, six months of medical training or related experience, and strong customer service skills. Phlebotomy certification is preferred for those performing blood collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of medical training or healthcare-related experience preferred.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge beneficial.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred for Phlebotomists.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize incoming specimens and process statistical data as required.
• May draw blood samples following physician orders and safety guidelines.
• Label, prepare, and aliquot specimens according to test requirements.
• Enter and verify laboratory data in the LIS/computer system.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare professionals regarding procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and stock supplies.
• May transport specimens and report results as needed.
• Follow OSHA guidelines and safety policies at all times.
