Job summary

Austin Regional Clinic is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist for a South Float assignment in Austin, TX. The role involves performing routine laboratory tests to support diagnosis and treatment within a high-quality clinical setting.

Under supervision, you may perform phlebotomy and coordinate specimen handling with reference labs. The position requires adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, and internal quality controls, with a focus on accuracy and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or MLT with school laboratory training.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy may be required.
• Qualified as Testing Personnel as defined under CLIA.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine medical laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
• Process specimens and report test results.
• Arrange pickup/delivery of specimens to reference/outside labs.
• Maintain records of proficiency testing.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document calibrations and maintenance.
• Communicate test results and specimen requirements to authorized sources.
• Demonstrate technical skills to students and new staff.
• Ensure testing follows established policies and corrective actions.
