St. Joseph Hospital is seeking a Processing Technician to join their team. The Processing Technician is a self-motivated individual with compassion for patients and the ability to represent the hospital mission. Responsibilities include collecting and preparing specimens for the clinical laboratory, ensuring patient identification and specimen integrity, evaluating received specimens, performing pre-analytical quality validation, entering test orders into information systems, preparing specimens for testing, expediting samples to testing sections, and preparing specimens for transport to reference laboratories. The technician must communicate effectively with internal and external clients and perform a variety of routine, quality control, and specialized laboratory tasks under the supervision of a Clinical Scientist. Tasks include inoculation of cultures, preparation of test devices, waived testing, and performing phlebotomy as needed. The individual should be reliable, demonstrate good customer service, and possess computer skills.
The starting rate for this position is $17.73. This rate reflects the beginning of the pay scale. The final offer will consider your skills and experience as they relate to the position.
