Job summary

Addison Group is assisting a nonprofit medical organization in Washington, DC, to hire a Digital Publishing Support Specialist. The role provides day-to-day operational support for digital platforms, newsletters, and journal publishing workflows in a deadline-driven environment.

The contract position is hybrid, 40 hours weekly, with two onsite days per week through year-end and potential extension into 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in professional editing, digital publishing, or a related field.
• Experience supporting email marketing, newsletters, streaming/podcast content, and web content management platforms.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
• Experience with Monday.com is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with content, web, editorial, and journal management teams to develop and distribute digital newsletters and other subscriber communications.
• Maintain publishing calendars and schedules for journal issues and articles, updating stakeholders accordingly.
• Maintain and update digital publishing, marketing, and tracking materials including spreadsheets and related documentation.
• Build and prepare email communications by incorporating article details, promotional materials, advertising, and podcast-related content.
• Partner with editorial staff to verify and revise article-level information before distribution.
• Prepare email samples and related materials for sponsored or advertising content with external partners.
• Maintain SOPs and documentation, incorporating workflow improvements where appropriate.
• Review the organization's journal website for publishing updates needing attention.
• Assist with digital publishing platforms, applications, and related processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to move projects toward deadlines.
• Take on additional publishing and digital support responsibilities as needed.
