Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX is hiring for a front desk/administrative role in the Ortho Spine & Ortho Trauma department. You will greet patients, verify demographics, check in/out, and schedule visits in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role includes handling insurance precertifications, entering charges, collecting co-pays, and reconciling daily financial reports. A high school diploma or equivalent with related experience is expected, along with strong office skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 1 year of applicable experience.
• Ability to verify demographics and process appointments.
• Experience handling insurance authorizations and precertifications.
• Knowledge of patient billing and co-pay collection.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Greets patients and visitors, checks patients in and out, and obtains necessary documentation. Verifies and enters demographic information.
• Obtains and verifies insurance authorizations/precertification. Completes medical record release requests and schedules/confirms patient appointments.
• Enters, reviews and submits charges for patient procedures and services daily. Collects co-payments and reconciles all daily reports and deposits for accuracy.
• Provides general office and clerical support to assigned area.
