Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Frisco, TX is seeking a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) - Float. This full-time role requires handling check-ins/outs, insurance verifications, scheduling, and EMR data entry.

You’ll support patient flow, verify benefits, and collect payments in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have HS diploma or GED and prior customer service or healthcare office experience, with flexibility to travel to center locations as needed.

Competenze

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Experience in customer service preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification beneficial.
• Healthcare/medical office administration experience advantageous.

Mansioni

• Check in and check out patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and manage reports.
• Register patient information and ensure forms are complete in the EMR.
• Verify patient insurance and obtain authorizations; explain benefits and responsibilities.
• Collect patient payments and explain financial policies at visits.
• Scan, file, and maintain medical records; post charges and assist with reporting.
• Coordinate scheduling with Center manager to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
• Be flexible with location and schedule as needed to cover center needs.

Patient Service Specialist (PSS) - Float

Hours: vary between Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Full Time

Compensation depends upon candidate’s years of experience and internal equity.

Starting salary: $19 - $25 per hour based off experience

Responsibilities

Looking for a customer service, detail oriented individual who is able to work in a fast paced environment. Tasks include check in, check out, insurance verifications, scheduling, reports, faxing and scanning and other office duties. To provide outstanding customer service to patients and staff.

• Coordinates patient appointments, working with Center manager to minimize cancellations and support Treatment adherence.
• Registers patient information, ensuring all forms are complete with signatures and accurate information documented in the electronic medical record.
• Verifies patient insurance, obtaining required authorizations before patient visit and explains benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
• Collects toward patient responsibility at each visit.
• Scan and maintain medical documents.
• Reconciles and posts charges daily and other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
• Responds to all request for information from patients, other department and physicians.
• Maintains office, orders supplies and manages mail.
• Willingness to adjust schedule to center needs.
• Travels Attends all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
• Travels to non-home location centre or other site for coverage when necessary.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required

• Customer service experience
• Knowledge of insurance verification
• Healthcare, medical, or dental office administration
