We are a private, family owned medical practice specializing in complex endocrine disorders like diabetes and thyroid issues. We are patient focused and value providing an excellent experience as the first point of contact for the patient. A good experience means the patient is more likely to come back, so finding the right person for the job is important.

We are looking for someone who values high quality customer service, consistently exhibiting polite, empathetic, and considerate phone call and in-person skills. We understand that everyone has off moments, but striving to be as caring as possible is the goal. Ideally, we seek someone who is very willing to learn all of the tasks and responsibilities of the front desk and is already adept with the EMR Athena, along with some reception and/or medical coding experience.

Job Responsibilities: (We currently have two positions available, and all of these responsibilities are shared between all individuals working at the front desk. Eventually, you will learn how to do all of these tasks for cross-training purposes)

  1. Patient check in and check out, taking payments, direct patient facing
  2. Working in Athena EMR
  3. Answering phones and scheduling patients
  4. Insulin pump downloads
  5. New patient referrals
  6. Working the missing slips buckets
  7. Creating basic claims in Athena, adding documentation and correct codes (per guide sheet given)
  8. Prior authorizations for VA and nutrition appointments
  9. Insurance verification, primary and secondary, per diagnosis code
  10. Being as caring and kind to the patients as often as possible

This is a job where the phone is ringing and the patients are waiting. It can be stressful, but a positive patient-focused attitude will get you through the day with pleasure.

Compatible experience is accepted, training will occur, but being a fast learner will help. Reach out with questions. We are looking to hire immediately (before the new year).
