Medical Front Desk / Patient Services Representative
We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and organized Medical Front Desk / Patient Services Representative to join our busy specialty medical practice. This position plays an important role in creating a positive patient experience while supporting both front-office and clinical operations.
The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities, pays close attention to detail, and is willing to assist wherever needed to help the clinic run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and provide professional, courteous check-in and check-out services.
- Travel to satellite clinic locations approximately 1–2 days per week to assist with patient check-in, check-out, and clinic operations. Transportation is provided for required travel. Satellite Locations are: Cape Girardeau, Jefferson City, and St. Robert. Please note we will be relocating our Creve Coeur location to Chesterfield this Winter.
- Prepare patient charts and complete daily chart preparation prior to clinic.
- Accurately enter and update patient demographics, insurance information, medical information, orders, and other required documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Verify insurance information and eligibility as needed.
- Assist with rooming patients when clinic volume or staffing requires additional support.
- Upload outside imaging and medical documentation into patient charts.
- Scan and appropriately file medical records, reports, correspondence, and other patient information.
- Process medical record requests, including printing, invoicing, and sending records according to practice procedures.
- Monitor and assist with incoming faxes and route information to the appropriate team member.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients, referral sources, and other callers as needed.
- Enter physician or clinical orders as directed and ensure information is routed appropriately.
- Assist with administrative and clinical support duties as needed during busy clinic days.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and patient-care environment.
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and practice policies at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient daily clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Previous medical office, front desk, patient service, or healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience with an electronic medical record system is preferred.
- Strong computer and data-entry skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately enter patient information.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy medical practice.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn multiple areas of the practice and assist coworkers as needed.
- Dependable, professional, and adaptable to changing clinic needs.
- Must be comfortable traveling to satellite offices as part of the regular work schedule.
