Job summary

St. Mary's General Medical Group is seeking a patient-focused medical receptionist to greet and register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and accurately process payments. The role supports business office tasks and requires strong interpersonal skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

The successful candidate will work in a full-time daytime setting and contribute to a team that emphasizes quality and compassionate patient care within a hospital-affiliated group.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in medical receptionist or general office work is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Good interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette are essential.
• Working knowledge of PCs, Microsoft Office Suite, copy machine and other office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients upon arrival for appointments and verifies demographic and insurance information.
• Calculates payments as necessary and collects insurance co-payments and other payments.
• Assists in business office duties as needed and reports to physician and manager as applicable.
