Job summary

AFC Urgent Care in Portland, OR (Bethany Clinic) is hiring a Medical Front Desk Receptionist. You will welcome patients, manage check-ins, verify insurance, and guide them through the payment and checkout process in a fast-paced clinic environment.

We offer a structured full-time schedule (~36–40 hours/week) with one on-call shift per month, monthly performance bonuses, and growth opportunities within a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of people-facing customer service experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with medical administrative duties (preferred).
• Solid computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with a warm, friendly attitude and set the tone for their visit.
• Guide patients through check-in and ensure forms are complete and entered into the EMR.
• Verify insurance details quickly and explain coverage and any payment due at time of service.
• Complete the checkout process, scan medical records and provide patients with documentation.
• Manage incoming phone calls and route to the right team member.
• Handle emails and faxes promptly and accurately.
• Maintain the cash drawer with end-of-day closeout.
• Keep the front desk and lobby area clean, calm, and disinfected between patients.
• Support the clinic team and assist as needed by the Clinic Manager.
