Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) seeks a Faculty Development Instructional Designer for the School of Medicine to design, deliver, and evaluate faculty development resources. You will work with physicians, educators, and administrators to build scalable programs in teaching, service, and scholarship, supporting a spiritually grounded medical education mission.

The role emphasizes evidence-based design, accessibility, and collaboration across departments as BYU launches a new medical school.

Qualifications

• Required a firm commitment to BYU's mission and values.
• Degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of instructional design or faculty development experience.
• Experience designing learning objectives, activities, assessments, and evaluations.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders across departments.

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate faculty development workshops and asynchronous modules.
• Develop teaching guides, onboarding materials, and communities of practice.
• Translate theory into practical tools for busy faculty.
• Advise on responsible use of learning technologies, including AI tools.
• Evaluate programs and prepare data-informed recommendations.
• Support accreditation documentation and continuous quality improvement.
• Coordinate timelines and resources for faculty development projects.
