Job summary

Advantage Surgical and Wound Care is seeking a Part-Time Wound Care Specialist (1-2 days/week) to deliver bedside wound care in post-acute settings near Clearwater, FL. The role involves daily rounds at multiple facilities and clinical autonomy in managing wound plans.

The candidate will conduct patient assessments, educate staff, and coordinate with physicians to ensure optimal outcomes for geriatric patients while maintaining comprehensive care standards.

Qualifications

• Active medical license required for practice.
• Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine preferred.
• General practitioners are welcome to apply.
• Valid state driver’s license required for travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments with attention to wound risk factors.
• Collaborate with facility staff to implement an effective wound care plan.
• Perform wound debridement and prescribe appropriate dressings.
• Educate nursing staff and maintain communication with primary care physicians and families.
• Order medications and provide clear instructions for use.
• Provide high-quality care to geriatric patients.

Job Details: Job Location: Clearwater, FL - Clearwater, FL, Salary Range: $195,000.00 - $227,010.00 Base+Commission/year, Advantage Surgical and Wound Care has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Wound Care Specialist (1-2 days/week) to work in/near the Clearwater, FL in our progressive medical practice.

Qualifications

• Active state medical license (MD/DO)
• Board Certification preferred (Family Practice or Internal Medicine)
• General Practitioners welcome to apply
• Valid state driver’s license

Duties

• Weekday commitment: No call, evenings, or weekends
• Deliver wound care at the bedside in the post-acute care setting.
• Round daily at multiple facilities
• No supervisory commitment

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, paying special attention to factors that increase the risk of wound formation.
• Collaborate with facility staff to ensure an effective wound care plan.
• Perform wound debridement and prescribe appropriate wound dressings.
• Educate nursing staff, and maintain open communication with primary care physicians, families, and clinical teams as required.
• Order necessary medications and provide clear instructions for their use.
• Provide quality patient care to the Geriatric patient population.
