Advantage Surgical and Wound Care in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Part-Time Wound Care Specialist (1-2 days/week) to join our progressive medical practice near the Clearwater area.

Our team delivers wound care in post-acute facilities, performing rounds across multiple sites, with a supportive administrative structure and full malpractice coverage for clinicians. The role offers flexible scheduling and tangible autonomy in patient care.

Qualifications

• Active state medical license (MD/DO) is required.
• Board Certification preferred (Family Practice or Internal Medicine).
• General Practitioners are welcome to apply.
• Valid state driver's license is required to operate across facilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver wound care at the bedside in post-acute care settings.
• Round daily at multiple facilities.
• Coordinate with facility staff to implement wound care plans.
• Educate nursing staff and communicate with primary care teams.
• Order necessary medications and provide clear usage instructions.
• Provide quality geriatric patient care.

Job description

Advantage Surgical and Wound Care has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Wound Care Specialist (1-2 days/week) to work in/near the Clearwater, FL in our progressive medical practice.

Our experienced medical providers perform rounds in Skilled Nursing Facilities, providing wound care to residents of post-acute rehab settings, nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and long-term acute care hospitals.

Qualifications

• Active state medical license (MD/DO)
• Board Certification preferred (Family Practice or Internal Medicine)
• General Practitioners welcome to apply
• Valid state driver’s license

Duties

• Weekday commitment: No call, evenings, or weekends
• Deliver wound care at the bedside in the post-acute care setting.
• Round daily at multiple facilities
• No supervisory commitment

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, paying special attention to factors that increase the risk of wound formation.
• Collaborate with facility staff to ensure an effective wound care plan.
• Perform wound debridement and prescribe appropriate wound dressings.
• Educate nursing staff, and maintain open communication with primary care physicians, families, and clinical teams as required.
• Order necessary medications and provide clear instructions for their use.
• Provide quality patient care to the Geriatric patient population.
