Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care, a global leader in renal care, seeks a co-op to assist in developing NxStage devices and disposables. You will support the Human Factors and Usability Engineering team, conduct research, document activities, and build samples as needed by project teams.

You will help create device profiles, perform usability analyses, and organize data while ensuring documentation aligns with design controls and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Entry-level understanding of product and process development of medical devices is preferred.
• Beginning understanding of system design, electronics, mechanical and software integration and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent technical communication skills and attention to detail in reports and analyses.
• Basic knowledge of usability testing and iterative development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development of new medical equipment or disposables and upgrades.
• Assist with major projects to resolve advanced and complex technical problems.
• Support Human Factors and Usability Engineering to develop and revise documentation.
• Create profiles on current devices, including task analyses and video walkthroughs.
• Assist with heuristic reviews of user interfaces (hardware and displays).
• Document observations from user evaluations and organize data in spreadsheets.
