Job summary

Bayer is seeking a motivated student to join the Device Research and Early Develop Co-Op for a 12-month assignment focused on development and characterization of medical devices. You will gain hands-on experience in testing, data analysis, and documentation within a regulated medical device environment.

The role is onsite at 1 Bayer Drive, Indianola, PA, and involves prototype development, test method creation, data analysis tooling, and formal reporting to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. program and returning to the academic program following completion of the Co-op assignment.
• Knowledge and application of engineering and scientific concepts.
• Ability to apply technology, engineering concepts, and methodologies to develop solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop prototype components or subassemblies for test fixtures and future medical devices.
• Develop test methods and protocols used for the evaluation of medical devices.
• Set up and execute experimental testing in a laboratory environment to generate performance data for medical devices.
• Contribute to the development of data analysis tools that improve the efficiency of evaluating experimental results.
• Prepare formal test reports documenting testing activities and results.
• Prepare and present findings to cross-functional program teams.
• Contribute to deliverables supporting fielded products and documentation requirements for products currently under development.
