Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc is seeking a Packaging Engineer for a 12-month contract in Warwick, RI to support design, development, and qualification of packaging systems for sterile and non-sterile medical devices. The role requires 1–3 years in packaging engineering, knowledge of ISO 11607/13485, CAD tools, and collaboration across R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory and Supply Chain.

You will contribute to design controls, create technical documentation, and assist in verification and validation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years in packaging engineering; regulated industry exposure is a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO 11607, ISO 13485 and packaging-related ASTM/ISTA standards.
• Foundational knowledge of engineering statistics; DOE or Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and qualification of packaging systems under guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist with design control activities and packaging specifications.
• Participate in packaging development projects from concept through verification and transfer; support testing, data collection, and documentation.
• Translate product and customer requirements into packaging and process requirements with mentorship.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Supply Chain on packaging strategy and execution.
• Execute technical tasks with ownership and escalate risks as needed.
• Prepare and maintain test protocols, reports, work instructions, and change controls.
• Support packaging verification and validation activities including sample prep and data analysis.
• Apply fundamental engineering principles to solve packaging problems and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop technical knowledge in medical device packaging through training and standards review.
