Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer for an onsite contract role in Saint Paul, MN. The engineer will perform black box hardware testing on medical device products, follow detailed test plans, and document results in a regulated environment.

The role requires 2+ years of hardware testing in a lab, hands-on testing of electronic products, and proficiency with oscilloscopes, DMMs, and signal generators. Strong communication and traceability are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hardware systems testing experience in a lab setting.
• 2+ years of hands-on testing of electronic products, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Experience performing hardware testing and manual testing on medical device products or similar electronic systems.
• Proficiency using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and signal generators.
• Experience with validation and design verification activities.
• Ability to follow detailed test plans and develop testing documentation.
• Strong documentation of test results in regulated environments.
• Excellent written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed test procedures to perform black box hardware testing on medical device products.
• Conduct hardware systems testing in a lab setting, ensuring tests meet validation and design verification requirements.
• Use oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and signal generators to perform electrical tests.
• Execute manual testing and accurately record measurements and outcomes.
• Develop and refine test plans, procedures, and test cases for hardware systems.
• Document test results in accordance with industry standards and quality processes.
• Support test engineering activities related to hardware testing, validation, and design verification.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate findings and assist in troubleshooting.
• Ensure proper setup and safe use of test equipment in the lab.
• Maintain organized records of test data and equipment usage for traceability.
