Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Hardware Test Engineer in Saint Paul, MN. The role focuses on black box hardware testing for medical device products in a regulated lab environment, using oscilloscopes, DMMs, and signal generators to verify design and validation requirements.

The candidate will develop test plans, document results with precision, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, while maintaining compliance and traceability in all testing activities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hardware testing experience in a lab setting.
• 2+ years of hands-on testing of electronic products, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Experience performing hardware testing and manual testing on medical device products or similar electronic systems.
• Proficiency using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and signal generators.
• Experience with validation and design verification activities.
• Ability to follow and execute detailed test plans and test development documentation.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed test procedures to perform black box hardware testing on medical device products.
• Conduct hardware systems testing in a lab setting, ensuring tests align with validation and design verification requirements.
• Use traditional lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and signal generators to perform electrical and electronic tests.
• Execute manual testing of electronic products and record measurements, observations, and outcomes accurately.
• Develop and refine test plans, test procedures, and test cases for hardware and electronic systems as needed.
• Document test results clearly and comprehensively in accordance with regulated industry standards and internal quality processes.
• Support test engineering activities related to hardware testing, validation, and design verification for medical products.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate findings, identify issues, and contribute to troubleshooting and resolution.
• Ensure proper setup, configuration, and safe use of test equipment and hardware under test in the lab environment.
• Maintain organized records of test data, test configurations, and equipment usage to support traceability and audits.
