As a result, the company is working to provide our differentiated, quality outcomes to as many patients that would benefit through our out-patient clinic partnerships.The Customer Service Representative is responsible for a variety of dutieswhich include answering calls from internal and external customers, handling correspondence, troubleshooting, setting up payment plans, processing credit card payments, updating patient demographics and insurance information, and other duties as assignedAll Healogics employees must perform their job responsibilities according to all Healogics policies, Hospital policies, as well as to accrediting organizations, federal and state regulation, and to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, as applicable.Essential Functions/Responsibilities:Answering multiline phone systemHandling medical billing/customer service inquiries telephonically and via emailResearching required information using available resourcesResolving customer/patient complaints and questionsResolving discrepancies in patient accountsEntering and updating new patient information into appropriate systemsRouting and escalating calls to appropriate resourceProcessing insurance and patient credit card paymentsHandling correspondence and returned mailSetting up payment plansFollows up patient calls and respond to voicemailsCorrecting information on claims sent to outside agenciesPerforms other duties as requiredRequired Education, Experience and Credentials:High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferredAt least two (2) years of Billing Office experience or; an equivalent combination of education and experience from which knowledge, skills and abilities are acquiredRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, read and write short correspondence, and memosAbility to effectively present information in small group situations to employees of the organizationAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percentKnowledge of medical billing principles and practicesThe ability to work independently and collaboratively on projectsStrong data entry skillsMulti-tasking and prioritization skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to recognize individual and system problems and to communicate them to the Business ManagerProficient knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Access software, internet and web-based database programsThe hourly rate for this role is 19.20 - 21.00 USD HourlyThis range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications: education, experience, geography as well as operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.If you are a current employee, to submit a job application, you need to apply as an internal candidate in Workday via the “Jobs Hub”.
