Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent medical office billing and provider-side collections experience; 7+ years preferred.
• Strong experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, and managed care plans.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, CMS-1500 claims, modifiers, and payer requirements.
• Experience with claim appeals, denial resolution, and aged AR follow-up.
• Familiarity with payer portals, practice management systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage insurance accounts receivable (AR) and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
• Resolve claim denials, underpayments, and rejections.
• Prepare corrected claims, reconsiderations, and appeals.
• Review EOBs/ERAs, denial codes, and payer billing requirements.
• Track aged and high-value accounts through final resolution.
• Document collection activities and identify recurring denial trends.
