Sutherland in New Jersey seeks a Medical Coding Team Lead to guide daily operations of the Medical Coding Department, collaborate with Coding Managers, ensure accuracy, productivity, and compliance, and support training initiatives.

You will mentor coders, monitor queues and metrics, address workflow barriers, and stay current with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and payer guidelines, while protecting PHI under HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive medical coding experience.
• Current coding certification such as CPC, CCS, CIC, COC, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.

Responsabilités

• Provide day-to-day operational support to Coding Managers and coordinate workflows.
• Monitor coding work queues and assign workloads.
• Serve as a resource for coders on routine coding questions and workflows.
• Mentor coding staff to promote accuracy and compliance.
• Escalate performance or compliance issues to Coding Managers as appropriate.
• Support ongoing education related to departmental procedures and guidelines.
